Sri Lanka is blessed with abundant wildlife, but choosing a park can be difficult. Yala offers the drama of the leopard, while Udawalawe guarantees elephants.
For families, Udawalawe is often the better choice. It is smaller, less crowded, and seeing an elephant is almost a certainty.
Yala, however, offers a diverse landscape of rocky outcrops and coastline that is stunning in its own right, even if the leopards remain hidden.
